In truth I don't really understand the difference between the two sound catagories and I don't think the Academy does either consider 4\5 nominees are the same. I'm suprised in the rich year of musicals (a genre that usually does well here) with Hairspray, Sweeney Todd and Once, not one got mentioned. Also surprised No Country and Blood did so well-- most films are bigger in this field. I think No Country had an inventive and interesting use of sound, and while I don't get the awards criteria, I'm happy it's being recognized. On a sentimental note, maybe Kevin O'Connell will finally win for Transformers after being snubbed like a million times. The Cinema Audio Society should clear up the eventual winner.
