Williams in The Ghost Writer
Very pleased by the more than welcoming mention of Olivia Williams, whose duplicitous and chilling work in Roman Polanski's early 2010 thriller, The Ghost Writer, is definitely one of the stronger acting turns of the year.  I'm saddened that the tightest, tautest film of the year has been so ignored, despite nearly universal acclaim when it opened.  Of course, that it opened way back in the Jurassic Age of last February didn't help, but still I claim that's perhaps the strongest ending of any film I saw in 2010.  That great, wordless, moment with the great reveal at the end is one of Polanski's strongest sequences in years.
