It's a bulls-eye! |
Sometime over the course of today-- January 8, 2011-- the brothers Coen will achieve something they've never achieved before; have one of their films cross the $100 million threshold. That they are achieving it with
True Grit, one of my least favorites of their filmography is something, I suppose, I will just have to get over-- there's way too many things in the movie lexicon that I've had to adjust to. Yet, congrats is in order that mainstream accessibility, the only thing that's truly ever eluded the oddball Minnesota sibling, is finally in their grasp. Now go back and make something weird again...
Top Grossing Coen Brothers Films:
- True Grit- $99.8
- No Country for Old Men- $74.2
- Burn After Reading- $60.2
- O Brother, Where Art Thou?- $45.5
- The Ladykillers- $39.7
- Intolerable Cruelty- $35.3
- Fargo- $24.6
- Raising Arizona- $22.8
- The Big Lebowski- $17.4
- A Serious Man- $9.2
